Randy Hodgins
Randy Hodgins was appointed Director of State Relations for the University of Washington (UW) in January 2004. As director, Randy is responsible for working with state legislators, statewide elected officials and state agency officials to advance the academic and legislative agenda of the UW.
Prior to joining the UW, Randy served as Staff Director for the Washington State Senate Ways and Means Committee from 1996 to 2004. In that position, he served both Democratic and Republican chairs. He previously served as the Ways and Means committee Budget Coordinator from 1991 to 1996 where he directly oversaw the preparation of the Senate version of the state operating and capital budgets. He began his state legislative fiscal career with the Legislative Analyst’s Office in Sacramento where he worked from 1983 to 1988.
Randy is a graduate of the University of Washington with an M.A. in Public Administration (1983) and a B.A. in American Studies (1979). He is also the coauthor of two books on Pacific Northwest popular culture, “Wet and Wired: a Pop Culture Encyclopedia of the Pacific Northwest” (Taylor Publishing, 2000) and “Seattle on Film: from the Jet City to the Emerald City through the Movies” (Punchline Productions, 1995). Randy and his wife Tina have three children, two sons and a daughter.
