The Office of External Affairs was created in February 2006 to bring together units responsible for influencing public policy and opinion and strengthening the university's reputation and the perceptions people hold of it. The units include the offices responsible for government relations at the federal, state and local levels; the media relations and communications office; and a marketing division that was created in 2006.
