How Can We Encourage Students with Disabilities to Pursue Computing?
The demand for trained computer scientists and engineers has grown and continues to grow dramatically. Despite the recognized need for a diverse computing workforce, women, racial/ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities continue to be underrepresented in computing and STEM fields. In this short video one woman shares advice for instructors on how their behaviors impact an underrepresented student's decision to pursue a computing field. This video was featured in the National Science Foundation 2015 Teaching and Learning Showcase.
