Registration FAQs

The UWAA is proud to hold and support an array events for members, alumni, students, friends and community members. Below you will find responses to general questions and concerns related to a wide variety of events. Be sure to check event listings and your registration confirmation for specific information and details.

I’m a Husky who lives outside of the Seattle area—how do I find out about events happening near me?

We have many alumni chapters across the country and globally! Many organize events throughout the year, such as happy hours, career networking opportunities, barbeques and football viewing parties. Learn about upcoming events by visiting our Husky Communities page to locate a Husky group near you.

Did my registration go through? Where’s my receipt?

After you place an order, an email confirmation will be sent to the address provided during purchase. If you don’t see this confirmation in your inbox be sure to check your junk or spam email folders. If you still don’t see it, contact us and we’ll get it sorted out!

How do I get my tickets?

All ticketing information will be included in your initial confirmation email. We will also send you a registration reminder email the week of the event that includes any information you will need to know.

May I have a refund?

Typically, all ticket sales are final. However, refunds are offered on an event-by-event basis. Any tickets purchases that support a scholarship fund are non-refundable. If you would like to inquire about a refund, please contact us.

If I can’t attend, how do I cancel my reservation?

Contact us with your reservation information and we will cancel it for you.

If I can’t attend can I give my ticket to someone else?

Yes! Contact us with your reservation information, and the name of the person you would like to give your ticket(s) to. Some exceptions apply to member-only events.

What if I bought tickets for someone else and they are being held under my name?

Not a problem! Just contact us with the name of the person who will be picking up the tickets.

The event is sold out online—is there a waitlist I can join?

Yes, contact us to add your name. Please note you will only be contacted if additional tickets become available. Some exceptions may apply.

Are tickets available at the door?

Some events will have tickets available at the door after online ticket sales have ended. Please refer to the event details page or contact us for additional information.

Where do I check in?

Check-in policies will be included in the confirmation email. In general, we recommend that you bring a photo ID, your membership card (either hard copy or digital) and a copy of your confirmation email.

It is two days before the event—why can’t I still get tickets?

Registration closes two days prior to the event unless otherwise noted on the registration page. Please see the event details page or contact us to find out if tickets are available at the door.

Is the event being recorded?

Recordings depend on the particular event. Please refer to your confirmation email or to the event details page for more information.

I’m not an alum—can I still come to events?

Yes! Most of our events are open to the public and are part of the UWAA’s efforts to serve our community and encourage lifelong learning. You can also become a member of the UWAA without being an alum for exclusive access to our member-only events.

It’s a UWAA event—why aren’t you taking registration for it?

Some of our events are hosted in part by other organizations which manage the registration process. If this is the case, please follow the registration directions indicated on the initial email or postcard you received. The correct registration page will also be linked from our UWAA Events page.

Here is a list of events that UWAA does not take registration for:

  • Seattle Arts and Lectures Series
  • UW Night at the Sounders
  • UW Night at the Mariners
