The Chancellor of UW Bothell and the Chancellor of UW Tacoma are responsible to the President and the Provost for all academic and educational matters on those campuses.
The chancellor reports to the Provost and is responsible through the Provost for campus academic planning, programs, and budget. The chancellor is the final point of review and approval for issues of an academic nature on his or her campus. In the creation of new degree programs or new academic units where University-wide committees, the central administration, and/or external bodies, such as the Higher Education Coordinating Board, are involved, the chancellor will be the chief advocate throughout the approval process for the campus. The chancellor is responsible for transmitting to the Provost or appropriate vice provosts or vice presidents all personnel actions for faculty, academic support personnel, and staff for the campus, and for compliance with all University-wide policies and state laws.
The chancellor also reports to the President and is responsible through the President for representing the campus to the Board of Regents, to the Higher Education Coordinating Board, and to the State Legislature. The chancellor is responsible for representing the campus to the local and statewide community and for campus development and fundraising. The chancellor is directly responsible for campus administration and management.
