Be part of the lasting impact

Every journey has a beginning. You can play a role in making the Ana Mari Cauce Welcome Center a reality.
“This means so much to me. When I first came to the UW nearly 40 years ago, I was welcomed into this generous community with open arms. We are the University for Washington — and the world. This center will carry that message. It is as simple as it is profound. Whoever you are and wherever you’re from, the University of Washington welcomes you and is here for you. I am deeply honored to be a part of that ongoing story.”
Ana Mari Cauce
President, University of Washington
No two journeys or destinations will be exactly the same.
But we can start at a single point, together.
Illuminate pathways to explore the UW
Visitors of every kind will discover a central starting point for information, campus tours, introductory sessions and more.
Create meaningful conversations to foster community
An auditorium and collaborative event spaces will host new-student orientations, alumni events, town halls, author readings, career networking and much more.
Inspire engaged citizens to amplify the UW’s positive impact throughout the world
The Welcome Center will serve as both a gateway to campus and a launchpad from which Huskies, supporters and friends will continue their journeys to enhance their education, careers and communities.
The power of place
At the northwest corner of campus — an iconic entrance to the UW — the Welcome Center will sit at a crossroads of community, history and culture. To the north, the tree-lined streets of University Heights hum with student life. To the west, the University District thrives as a vibrant and eclectic hub of food, art and entertainment. Here, University Book Store has long served as an intellectual cornerstone, gathering students, faculty and the wider community.
It’s more than a location — it’s where our story begins.
A gateway to the UW. Made possible by you.
Honoring Ana Mari Cauce, this new Welcome Center is possible only with the support of the entire UW community — including you.
Together, we’ll celebrate Cauce’s accomplishment, leadership and unwavering commitment to equity and access. Together, let’s open the door to a future of boundless possibilities.
Every journey has a beginning.
