University-wide implementation

The 2026–30 Strategic Plan establishes a shared direction for the University. Achieving its goals will require coordinated effort among schools, colleges, campuses, UW Medicine, administrative units and other partners, supported by clear structures for leadership, decision-making and accountability.

University-wide implementation will be guided by President Robert J. Jones and Provost Tricia Serio and organized around the plan’s four pillars. Pillar co-chairs will lead each pillar and work with cross-functional working groups that bring together expertise from throughout the institution to advance shared objectives, goals and actions.

A Pillar Implementation Steering Committee, composed of pillar co-chairs and working group leads, will coordinate work across pillars, identify opportunities for collaboration and review progress, challenges and emerging needs. This structure will connect related efforts and create opportunities for shared learning and problem-solving.

These efforts will be supported by shared resources that provide the capacity for sustained implementation. A dedicated implementation support function will provide convening, facilitation, project management, communications and administrative support, connecting work across governance bodies, working groups and individual units.

These governance and support structures will provide the foundation for implementation, enabling the University to monitor progress, address challenges and advance the strategic plan’s objectives.
