Real DAWGS Read

Readers are leaders!

Real Dawgs Read is a summer reading program developed for K-8, Title I schools in Washington state. Participants read at least 30 minutes a day over 30 separate days to earn a Husky reward and reading certificate. This year, students have the option of recording their reading either on the provided paper journals OR online—please don’t submit your reading journal twice. If your school has opted into Real Dawgs Read and you received login information, click the button to the right to get started. You must start recording your reading AFTER the last day of school.

Over the years, UW licensees Zephyr Headwear, Logo Brands and Strideline Socks have donated merchandise which rewards successful readers.

This program is possible because of generous support from AT&T and Starbucks.

Start reading today! Books, comic books, magazines, newspapers — YOU choose. Read alone, read aloud, read with friends, have someone read to you. Just read, and you’ll be dressed like a Dawg in no time!
