UW’s Doorway Project seeks to create a hub for homeless youth

The University of Washington is launching The Doorway Project, an effort to establish a University District neighborhood hub and navigation center specifically for homeless young people in a partnership among faculty, student and community service agencies. The more than one billion people who live in the High Mountain Asia (HMA) region depend on the area’s large glaciers and snow packs for freshwater, hydropower and agriculture. A University of Washington project is studying the HMA’s glaciers, snow, permafrost and precipitation to determine how climate change is impacting the water resources of that region.
