The Population Health Initiative has again partnered with the University of Washington’s Undergraduate Research Program (URP) to offer a series of faculty lectures during winter quarter 2019 focused on the three pillars of population health: human health, environmental resilience and social and economic equity. New report projects sea-level changes for Washington State

A new climate change report led by Washington Sea Grant and the University of Washington’s Climate Impacts Group details ocean level projections for more than 150 different sites along the Washington coastline. New population health concurrent degree program launched by School of Nursing

The University of Washington’s School of Nursing has launched a new concurrent Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Population Health and Master of Public Health in Global Health Degree. IHME study finds 250,000-plus died from firearm-related injuries in 2016

The University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation recently completed the most extensive study ever conducted on global firearm-related deaths, discovering that more than 250,000 people died from firearm-related injuries in 2016. The study, which is a part of the Global Burden of Disease, found that half of those deaths occurred in only six countries in the Americas: Brazil, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Guatemala. New research led by the University of Washington shows why winter air pollution levels in the Eastern United States have remained high, despite overall lower levels of harmful emissions from power plants and vehicles throughout the year.
