Certain groups of immigrants tend to be healthier than people born in the U.S., with some of that health advantage potentially carrying over to the infants of foreign-born women. University of Washington Bioengineering graduate student Nuttada Panpradist is developing an instrument-free diagnostic device to detect HIV infection and drug resistance. i-Heal (Injury-related Health Equity Across the Lifespan), a new program launching this spring, will be part of the UW’s Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center. QS is a British educational organization that ranks the world’s universities. The University of Washington’s School of Nursing received a number of high rankings in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 Best Graduate Schools. The magazine, which evaluated Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master’s programs nationally, ranked the UW number three nationally among schools of nursing with a Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
