Expertise: Geriatric mental health, multi-morbidity, caregiving, dementia, and educating nurses during pandemic

Tatiana Sadak is psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a PhD focused in geriatric neurodegenerative disorders (dementias). She is an associate professor and a director of undergraduate education at the UW School of Nursing and a clinician specializing in geriatric mental health, dementia management and family caregiver support. She is overseeing undergraduate nursing curriculum design/implementation, and current program changes with emphases on increasing virtual instruction and novel clinical training opportunities for nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is also piloting and protocolizing virtual crisis mental health counseling and support for older adults and their family caregivers who are isolated during mandatory social distancing.
