Hansen new CEO of Children’s Hospital

Dr. Thomas Hansen will succeed Treuman Katz as chief executive officer of Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. Katz will retire Sept. 30 after 26 years in the position.

Hansen has for eight years been CEO of Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

He also is chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Ohio State University. He has been recognized for his involvement in pediatric health research and his passion for teaching.

Katz was instrumental in creating the affiliation between Children’s and the UW School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics.

His work over the years made it one of the top hospitals for children and pediatric research institutions in the nation.
