Plan Your Visit

Welcome to the University of Washington. Most of our lectures take place on central campus located south of 45th Avenue NE and north of NE Pacific Street in either Kane Hall or the Meany Center for the Performing Arts (Meany Hall). If you are driving to campus, please allow at least 30 minutes to park and find your way to to your destination. In many cases, it may be easier for you to arrive by bus or light rail.

Directions and Parking

Directions from I-5: Take the NE 45th Street exit. Proceed East on NE 45th Street. Turn right at 15th Ave NE and proceed South. Turn left at NE 41st Street, into the Central Parking Garage (CPG).

Directions from WA-520: Take the exit for Montlake Blvd and head North on Montlake NE. Turn left at NE Pacific St and proceed West. Turn right on 15th Ave NE and proceed North. Turn right at NE 41st Street, into the Central Parking Garage (CPG).

There is limited paid parking available in the Central Plaza Garage located underneath Red Square. There are also several surface lots and on-street parking within walking distance.

Directions to Kane Hall: Once inside the parking garage, look for the white and purple signs directing you to Kane Hall (North East side of garage). Take the elevators to the first floor.

Directions to Meany Hall: Once inside the parking garage, look for white and purple signs directing you to Meany Theater (South West side of garage). Take the elevator to the main lobby of the theater.

Gatehouse Information

We recommend our visitors to stop by a Gatehouse to purchase a permit before parking at Central Plaza Parking Garage (CPG). The two most convenient Gatehouses are:

  • Central Plaza Garage located at 15th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 41st Street, underground in the Central Plaza Garage.
  • West Gatehouse located at 15th Avenue Northeast and Stevens Way by Meany Hall.

Transit Information

Over 60 bus routes serve the U-District, including many that drive on the campus itself or have stops within a few blocks of Meany Hall. The Link light rail station by Husky Stadium is a 10-minute walk away. King County Metro’s handy Trip Planner is a great tool for finding an easy route to campus.

Hall Information

Kane Hall

The majority of our lectures are located in Kane Hall, on the University of Washington Seattle campus. Kane Hall is located on the Northeast side of Red Square and is home to academic lecture halls and provides accommodations for many of our events.

Meany Hall

Considered one of the region’s premier performance facilities, Meany Center for the Performing Arts is beloved by artists and audience members alike for its outstanding acoustics and intimate ambiance.
