Scheduling exams at the DRS Testing Center
To take your exams at the DRS Testing Center, you must have completed all the steps to activate your accommodations and your instructor must have completed the “Alternative Testing Agreement.”
Exams are scheduled through myDRS. Schedule ALL your exams for the quarter with DRS by the 2nd week of the quarter. We cannot guarantee requests made less than 5 business days before midterms & quizzes and less than 10 business days before finals.
Ensure you schedule your exams for the times listed by your instructor in their syllabus, as any exceptions will require their explicit approval. You can also modify or cancel exam requests through myDRS.
Specific accommodations instructions
Scheduling deadlines
To be guaranteed a testing space with DRS, you must submit your exam requests by the following deadlines:
- Quizzes & Midterms (Weeks 1–10): At least 5 business days before the exam date
- Final Exams: At least 10 business days before the exam date
Late requests are not guaranteed. While we try to accommodate late requests, space limitations mean we cannot guarantee testing for exams scheduled late. In these cases, DRS will consult with your instructor to determine next steps, which may include your instructor administering the exam instead of DRS.

Arriving and Checking In for Your Exam
When you arrive at the testing location specified in your myDRS exam request, please:
- Arrive early or on time to get checked in, use the restrooms, store gear, etc.
- Store all personal and unauthorized items (like backpacks, coats, hats, smartwatches, cell phones, and personal electronic devices unless specifically approved) outside the testing room
- Bring only instructor-authorized materials into the testing area
- Ask to use a timer or clock if one isn’t automatically provided or part of your accommodation
- Ensure you have all professor-allowed materials, such as specific types of calculators, scantrons, or writing instruments
Policy for Late Arrivals: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you may not be permitted to take your exam at that scheduled time, depending on DRS space, staff availability, and operating hours. Late arrival does not extend your approved testing time. DRS will consult the Testing Agreement or contact your instructor for guidance in such situations.
During Your Exam
- Manage your time effectively. You are responsible for monitoring your progress and submitting your exam before your end time. DRS will notify your instructor if you exceed your allotted time.
- If you encounter any issues with the exam itself (ex.g. missing pages, believe you have the wrong test, etc.), inform Testing Center staff immediately.
- For restroom breaks, notify Testing Center staff. You will need to leave your exam materials at the testing desk and must not take any personal items with you.
- Uphold academic integrity. Cheating violates the University’s Code of Conduct. Be aware that video surveillance is operational in the Testing Center and footage is retained for one quarter.
Finishing Your Exam
Once you have completed your exam:
- Submit all exam materials to the DRS staff.
- Return any borrowed items (such as calculators or clocks) to the testing center desk. DRS will then ensure your completed exam is securely returned to your instructor.
