For the month of April, if you spend $5 and fill out an entry form at participating businesses in the University District, you could win a chance to be one of the first people to tour the new UW light rail station located near Husky Stadium, which isn’t slated to open until 2016. UWTV’s Inside Look: Veterans Affairs
In light of the recent report released by the Office of External Affairs, Assessing Veterans Services and Programs, check out this recent segment on UWTV which takes a closer look at the challenges that veterans face when they transition from active duty service to civilian life. Video now available for the “Find It, Fix It” walk with Mayor Murray
In February, Mayor Murray hosted his first “Find It, Fix It” walk right here in the University District. About 100 people came out to walk around the University District with the Mayor and his aides to talk about safety, homelessness, youth services, partnerships, infrastructure concerns, and other matters specific to the neighborhood. UWTV has compiled a video of the walk, which can be viewed on the UWTV site.
Report Assessing UW Services and Programs for Veterans Released
The UW Office of External Relations recently released a report which assesses the services and programs available to our veteran and active duty military personnel across all three UW campuses. The report includes how the UW supports, and could better support, our students who are veterans or active duty.

Paws for a Cause 5K on UW Campus
The Husky Running Club will be hosting an on-campus 5K run and walk for UW students and community members coming up on April 11. Proceeds from the event will benefit UW Relay for Life which raises money to fight cancer and provide support programs for cancer patients and survivors.
