For Pride Month, help leave a lasting mark on campus!
Since 2004, the University of Washington Q Center has envisioned a community where justice, equality, compassion and respect for all people prevails. Since 1889, the UW Alumni Association has united alumni and friends in support of the UW. Now these two Husky communities are working together to celebrate a milestone anniversary by combining an anniversary gift with a special UWAA membership offer.
Funds from this combined drive will go toward campus bench named in honor of visionary science fiction author Octavia E. Butler (1947–2006). Her writing challenged readers to imagine a world without the constraints of race, gender or hierarchy. We hope this bench will be a QTIPOC gathering place, where all who are inspired by her words are welcome.
