Mina Hooshangi, ’12 | Secretary

Class of 2012, Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Arts focus on Community Psychology, UW Bothell

Why I Serve

I always knew I wanted to be a Husky and applied to both UW Seattle and UW Bothell. Living in Mill Creek, I decided to enroll closer to home. I completely fell in love with UW Bothell and it changed my personal and professional trajectories in the best ways possible.

My original intent was to pursue law, but UW Bothell’s strong interdisciplinary program exposed me to subjects that broadened my horizons and inspired me to pursue psychology. Outside of the classroom, I worked as an orientation leader in the Office of Student Life, which further sparked my passion for investing in and working with people. A substantial portion of my subsequent career has focused on human resources. I attribute that to my leadership development and diverse experiences as a UW Bothell student.

I served on the UW Bothell Alumni Council for many years. Becoming a UW Trustee is a natural extension of my work to connect alumni to the greater UW community. No matter which campus you attended or where you now live, Husky hearts remain aligned to support UW’s mission. My professional goal is to work at UW Bothell and my dream job is to become chancellor. For now, I’m doing my part to support future generations as a new parent. My baby will be sporting a Husky letterman’s jacket from day one!
