International Huskies
“In and About” Around the Husky Globe: Spring 2020
While we may have been physically distanced these last few months, Huskies around the world made the most of it and still found ways to connect. That’s why we’re calling this edition of our international alumni news column “In and About.”
Chapter leaders gather online
Volunteers and leaders from our international alumni communities gathered virtually in April. They encouraged each other, shared stories of how their lives had changed and toasted better days to come. For more information about becoming a volunteer, contact Sophie Lee at seungwha@uw.edu.
Indonesia Huskies give back
We’re so proud of all the ways UW alumni around the world are helping out during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Indonesia Huskies are making a difference right in their own backyard. Since early March, they’ve been providing PPE and meals to local hospitals and medical facilities on a weekly basis. Learn more about their work and how other international Huskies are lending a hand in our feature story.
Alum launches business with nod to Washington
When Eric Tian, ’14, co-president of the Shanghai Huskies launched his bespoke tailoring shop in Shanghai, he needed the perfect name. Paying homage to the mountain that looms so majestically over the UW campus, Rainier & Co. opened it’s doors in early in May. We’re wishing Eric the best of luck in his new endeavor. See more photos from the opening.
