Student/Alumni Events

Houseplants 101 and 201

Learn the do’s and don’ts of indoor plants in these workshops that bring students and alumni together. Back by popular demand, instructor Tassy de Give — co-author of “Rooted in Design” and Plant Director of Glasswing Greenhouse and Geometry Gardens — discusses how to choose the right plant for your indoor environment. Gain know-how and guidance for improving the life of your plants, including environmental factors, plant identification, general care techniques and troubleshooting potential plant problems.

In addition to the instructional talk, each class includes a hands-on plant potting activity with ample time for Q&A. All attendees will leave with a new succulent or foliage plant to care for, in a sturdy terracotta pot.

We have expanded our class offerings this year! Are you a first-time plant owner and looking to start your indoor jungle? Join us for Houseplants 101 on April 13. Are you looking to increase your knowledge of your existing collection? Join us for Houseplants 201 on April 16. See below for detailed descriptions of each class level to help you decide.
