UW President Ana Mari Cauce is joined by Yakima Valley College President Linda Kaminski. This event coincides with the UW Alumni Association’s “509 Day,” which highlights Eastern Washington alumni.

Meet President Cauce

A member of the UW faculty since 1986, Ana Mari Cauce became the UW’s 33rd president in 2015. President Cauce is a strong advocate for women and underrepresented minorities to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Raised in Miami after emigrating with her family from Cuba, she earned her Ph.D. in psychology from Yale University. Cauce has received many awards for her teaching, scholarship and advocacy. She remains active in the classroom, teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
