More than 5 million Americans live with dementia, a number expected to triple in the next 25 years. Family members often serve as caregivers for this population but have difficulty translating complex medical plans into practice. Dr. Tatiana Sadak, 08, ’11, assistant professor of nursing, is working to change that.
Sadak will present the innovative approaches in development at the school’s de Tornyay Center for Healthy Aging, UW’s top-ranked gerontology research center, to enable family caregivers to best implement health care providers’ treatment plans. She will be introduced by Azita Emami, dean of the UW School of Nursing.
The reception with hosted appetizers and cash bar begins at 6 p.m. with a program at 7 p.m.
$30 for UWAA members, current students and recent graduates (classes 2010–2014)
