UWAA members are invited to join Paola Ramos for a pre-lecture gathering at nearby Ananas Pizzeria before she takes the stage at Town Hall Seattle. This is your chance to mingle with other Huskies and meet Ramos, author and Emmy Award-winning journalist for Telemundo and MSNBC.
After the reception, stroll across the street to Town Hall for this season’s first lecture presented by the UW Office of Public Lectures. Paola Ramos will be joined by UW faculty member Sophia Jordán Wallace in a conversation focused on the evolving landscape of Latino voter engagement and political participation. Hear about shifting demographics, policy priorities and the critical role Latino voters play in shaping electoral outcomes across America.

About the speaker
Paola Ramos
Paola Ramos is an author and Emmy Award winning journalist. She is a contributor for Telemundo News and MSNBC, where she is the host of “Field Report.” Ramos is a former correspondent for Vice News. Her reporting has taken her from embedding with migrants in the Darien Jungle to interviewing cartel members on the U.S.-Mexico border to deeply exploring Latinos’ shifting political identity across the nation. Prior to her career in journalism, Ramos was the Deputy Director of Hispanic Media for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, a political appointee during the Obama Administration, and served in President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.
