Get ready to show your Husky pride! On Oct. 19, the UW community is invited to celebrate W Day and kick off Homecoming weekend. This annual tradition is open to Huskies on campus, online and around the world.

  • Free concert by The Dip

    The Dip is an electrifying seven-piece ensemble that melds vintage rhythm and blues, modern pop and ’60s-steeped soul. Based in Seattle, The Dip has performed at Capitol Hill Block Party and Sasquatch! Music Festival.

Red Square

11 a.m.

  • Free* purple T-shirts and UW swag
  • Face painting: Add some Husky flair to your look
  • Photo booth: Snap a photo with fellow Huskies or take a selfie
  • Games: Corn hole, giant Jenga and basketball

11:30 a.m.

  • Dollars for Dawgs: Enjoy a hot dog and a Coca-Cola beverage** for a suggested donation. All proceeds benefit ASUW’s Husky Pride Fund.

Lace up your kicks for a 10K run or 5K walk/run through the UW campus to benefit student scholarships.

Oct. 16: Annual President’s Address

Join President Ana Mari Cauce as she discusses how public reinvestment in higher education is necessary for the UW to honor its public promise.

Oct. 18: North Campus Grand Opening

Celebrate the opening of the new North Campus housing, dining and amenities.

Oct. 20: Homecoming football game

Purple Friday + W Day discounts

It’s #WDay and #PurpleFriday! Whether you’re on campus or somewhere else in the Pacific Northwest or around the world, today’s the day to rep your Husky gear.

On campus, anyone wearing purple can receive a 10% discount at all UW Dining locations.

By wearing your favorite purple or UW-licensed apparel, you can also enjoy discounts at select stores. See below for details. New merchants will be added until W Day, so check back regularly.
