UW Surveys

SERU

Your voice counts. Take the SERU survey and be heard.

What is the SERU?

SERU stands for “Student Experience in the Research University,” and the survey helps us understand what the UW undergraduate experience is really like for students.

Results from the survey inform us about what is working well for students and shows us where we could do better.

Only undergraduates can take the survey.

Take the survey, help make the UW even better, maybe win a prize.

Apple Watch, Apple AirPods, or University Bookstore Gift Cards

In addition to helping make the UW undergraduate experience the best it can be, everyone who takes the survey will be entered into a drawing to win one of the following prizes:

  • One Apple Watch Series 4 GPS
  • One of 4 pairs of wireless Apple AirPods
  • One of 20 $50 University Bookstore gift cards

You have a great chance of winning, but only if you take the survey. Plus, winners will be drawn every week, so the sooner you take the survey, the more chances you have to win.

What kind of questions are asked?

The SERU questions cover a broad range of topics, from campus climate and the amount of time you study, to the type of research experiences you enjoy and your experience with your major.

Questions also gauge the impact of college on such areas as critical thinking, writing and revising term papers, academic preparation, research experiences, overall satisfaction and time management. It’s a thorough survey but only takes about 30 minutes.
