Listed are the Work Study positions for Summer and Academic year 2008-09. You have a choice of viewing them by job category or by department name. To view the online job descriptions you will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader. This free program may be obtained directly from Adobe.
Contact the individual employers to arrange an interview. You will need a Job Referral Form obtained at the Work Study Office which verifies your eligibility. The employer will complete and return this form to the Work Study Office when you have been hired. Summer Work Study begins July 1, 2008. Students awarded for Autumn Quarter will begin work on September 24, 2008. A new Job Referral Form will be required for students who worked full-time in the summer and wish to continue Autumn quarter.
The Work Study Student Handbook contains helpful information on finding jobs, getting paid, the On-Campus Payroll Schedule, and other Work Study questions. Timesheets will be mailed to your employer. You must follow the payroll schedule to be paid on time on the 10th and 25th of each month. Off-Campus Work Study employees will initially be paid by the employer and reimbursed by completing an off-campus timesheet.
Student employees working in support of research and instruction are subject to policies stated in the UW/UAW contract for Academic Student Employees (ASEs). The most recent information on the contract may be found at: http://www.washington.edu/admin/hr/laborrel/contracts/uaw/addons/.
