Egyptian law expert to speak at UW law school

Adel Omar Sherif, deputy chief justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt, will speak at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 25 in Room 138 of William H. Gates Hall. The title of his talk is, The Challenge of Moving from Constitutional Crisis to Liberal Democracy.

Sherif is an internationally recognized expert in Egyptian constitutional law, comparative constitutional law, and human rights. He serves on the advisory boards of the United Nations Commission for Human Rights and the International Judicial Academy in Washington, D.C.

The talk is sponsored by the UW School of Law, the Gates Public Service Law Program, and the Middle East Center of the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies. It is free, but an RSVP to gatespsl@uw.edu is requested.
