‘Baroque Celebration features UW ensemble with Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra

Students from the UW Baroque Ensemble will perform orchestral works by Bach as well as various chamber music selections in collaboration with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra in Baroque Celebration, 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, in Meany Hall.

The program will includes Handels Music for the Royal Fireworks, featuring Hyunju Juno Lee, flute; Vivaldis Concerto for two Flutes in G Major, featuring Katherine Isbill and Meese Agrawal, flute; Bachs Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor; and Concerto for Two Violins, BWV 1043, featuring violinists Tyler Reilly and Nicola Reilly.

Carole Terry is professor of organ and harpsichord and director of the Baroque Ensemble. The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra provides opportunities to young professionals throughout the Seattle-Tacoma area who desire a high-caliber music experience. The group is committed to sharing its passion for music with the community, bringing the voice of the composer to life. Geoffrey Larson, a student of the UWs Peter Erös, will conduct.
