Faculty flutist to perform Jan. 16 in Brechemin Auditorium

Faculty artist Donna Shin and pianist Casey Robards of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University will perform at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16 in Brechemin Auditorium. The two will play new works for flute as well as music from around the world, highlighting the European virtuoso tradition, sounds from the Orient, and dance inspirations from Latin America. Faculty artists Shannon Spicciati, oboe, and Michael Partington, guitar, also appear.

The program includes Miniatures, by William Grant Still; Romanian Folk Dances, by Bela Bartok; Evocación y Joropo (de la Suite del Recuerdo), by Jose Luis Merlin; Shoji, by Hilary Tann; Precious Metal, by D.J. Sparr; Cherishing a Memory, by Siyun Ma; and Perpetual Afternoon, by Kristin Kuster.

Tickets for the concert are $10, cash or check at the door.
