Beyond poverty.
Alice O’Connor, professor of history at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and teaches and writes on poverty, wealth, social and urban policy and inequality. She will explore what contemporary scholars can learn from their Progressive-era counterparts in a talk titled “Beyond the Poverty Paradigm: Social Research and Political Imagination in Two Eras of Progressive Reform.”
