The Combined Fund Drive (CFD), Washington State’s workplace giving campaign, will be extended until Dec. 12, providing another week for the UW campus community to consider donating to the more than 2,600 charities supported by the campaign.
So far, the 2008 campaign has raised $1,765,408 in donations from about 15 percent of the UW community, according to Kerri Everly, development services officer for the UW campaign.
The fund drive has raised more money so far this year than at this same time last year. The week’s extension provides additional opportunity for the campaign to reach its $2 million goal.
“In these times of financial difficulty, charities need our help even more,” Everly said. “I’m deeply impressed by the generosity of the UW community and its willingness to address these needs.”
