Health and safety committee elections coming soon

Elections are beginning for employee representatives to the 11 UW organizational health and safety Committees. The two-year terms begin Jan. 1, 2008. Any UW employee is eligible to participate — staff, faculty, hourly, temporary and student employees. An employee may nominate him/herself, the current elected representative, or a co-worker.

A call for nominations will soon be made by all departments, followed later by a ballot.

Voting is usually online. For areas that do not have Web access, the election announcement will indicate an alternate voting method. Start and closing dates will also be announced.

Once the 11 organizational safety committees are set for the next term, two members from each will be selected to sit on the University-Wide Health and Safety Committee.
