International conference on patient, family care starts July 30

Up to 1,000 people are expected to attend the 3rd International Conference on Patient- and Family-Centered Care in Seattle July 30 to Aug. 1. UW Medical Center staff members are among numerous presenters from hospitals, health systems, community-based programs, patient- and family-led organizations, physician practices, schools of medicine, nursing and other health professions. UWMC staff and advisory council members, including former patients and family members, will discuss parental involvement in quality improvement programs, guiding caregivers in end-of-life language in the newborn intensive care unit, and patients as partners in care, among other topics.
