New employee orientation goes online

Training and Development has created a new online employee orientation to replace the in-person sessions.

The new generation orientation covers largely the same information but it can be completed at any time and from any computer with an Internet connection. The orientation Web site (www.washington.edu/admin/hr/traindev/newemp/NEOR/index.html) includes information about key policies at the UW, a chance to request a Husky Card, and registration information for the in-person benefits orientation.

The online orientation takes about 45 minutes to complete, compared to three and a half-hours for the previous program. New employees will still have the opportunity to gather twice per quarter at Q&A coffee hours.

A computer lab has been established in the Brooklyn Building so that employees without computer access can complete the orientation. To set up an appointment call 206-543-1957 or e-mail newemp@u.washington.edu.
