UW Photography Group opens show

A show opening Friday, Nov. 15 displays the talents of a group of photographers with ties to the UW. The show, at the HUB gallery (on the first floor, opposite the candy counter), is made up of 32 photos by 15 people, all of them members of the UW Photography Group.

“We’re an eclectic group — some beginners, some longtime photographers — who just love to get together and talk about what we do,” said group member Kari Berger, who works at UWired Health Sciences.

The group includes staff, students, faculty and alumni and has been meeting for just over a year. It was started by Deborah Hughes, a Sociology employee and avid photographer. Berger says the group talks about a particular subject at each meeting and often invites speakers. Meetings are from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the last Thursday of the month on campus.

There will be an opening reception for the exhibit from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 in the gallery. The exhibit will be up until Dec. 2.

New members are welcome in the group. Contact Hughes at dhughes@u.washington.edu  for more information. Or go to the Web site: http://www.staff.washington.edu/kberger.
