Puget Sound Writing Project for Teachers

The program, part of the UW English Department, welcomes K-16 teachers who want to deepen their knowledge about the teaching of writing. Teachers in the program have the opportunity to practice their own writing, investigate an educational topic of their choice related to writing, share their teaching strategies and learn efficient strategies from other teachers.

Ackerley Partner Schools Network

This is a joint project of the College of Education and the Ginger & Barry Ackerley Family Foundation to support high-needs schools in the Pacific Northwest.

Pacific Northwest Seismic Network

The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, a unit of the College of the Environment, operates seismograph stations and locates earthquakes in Washington and Oregon and is centered at the UW’s Department of Earth and Space Sciences. PNSN operates 19 seismograph stations within the 2nd Legislative District.

Center for Sustainable Forestry at Pack Forest

The purpose of the center is to discover, teach and demonstrate the concepts of sustainable forestry, with a special focus on advancing the strategic themes of the University of Washington’s College of Forest Resources.  The Center aims to provide internationally recognized leadership for sustainable forestland management through research, demonstration and technology transfer.  The center is actively advancing the communities.  Located at the foot of Mount Rainier, the Center for Sustainable Forestry at Pack Forest sits on 4,300 acres of third-party certified, working forestland.

Entrepreneurial Law Clinic

Promoting economic development by facilitating entrepreneurship, the ELC serves entrepreneurs throughout the state. The program teams law and business students with pro bono attorneys and business advisers to provide early stage legal and business counseling to Technology Entrepreneurs, Small Business OwnersSocial Entrepreneurs & Non-Profits and UW & ITHS Faculty Researchers.
