Somaili refugee experience in Seattle explored

In Search of Nabad

On Monday, March 3, UW African Studies will present “In Search of Nabad”, an intimate documentary by Sorayya Aminian, ’11, about Seattle’s Somali refugees and their search for peace in their new home. Screens at 3:30 pm in the Allen Library auditorium followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.

Burke Museum locates original Seahawks mask

After reading a Burke Museum blog post, the Hudson Museum at the University of Maine contacted them  about a British Columbia Kwakwaka’wakw mask believed to be the inspiration for the original Seahawks logo.

Part of the Katz Distinguished Lectures in the Humanities series sponsored by the Simpson Center for the Humanities.
