Security Tools and Tactics to Support Digital Wellness

What do you know about protecting your online information? Heighten your information security awareness with warnings and tools that will be shared by presenters Melissa Albin-Wurzer (education and communications manager, UW Office of the Chief Information Security Officer) and Kerry Kuenzi (privacy analyst, UW Privacy Office).

Melissa Albin-Wurzer has worked in the UW Office of the Chief Information Security Officer since 2010 as education and communications manager and as an information security analyst. Her role at UW includes delivery of an information security awareness program using a variety of learning options, such as online training, infographics, in-person presentations and monthly briefing sessions. Today’s presentation will focus on security tools and tactics to support digital wellness.

Kerry Kuenzi is a privacy analyst in the UW Privacy Office, established in August 2017 to address the complex and evolving areas of privacy within the University. Prior to this, Kerry worked in the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer for six years and elsewhere on campus since 2004. In addition to analyzing data, processes, systems and practices for consistency with the UW values and privacy principles, Kerry is responsible for privacy education, training and communications. Kerry developed “Digital Wellness and Personal Privacy” for International Data Privacy Day on Jan. 28, 2018.

Learn about individual emergency preparedness tactics and community tools like the Seattle Neighborhoods Actively Prepare (SNAP) program from Melanie Cole, outreach and training specialist in the Seattle Office of Emergency Management.

Melanie Cole is the outreach and training specialist at the Seattle Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Melanie has been with Seattle OEM for two years and works day-to-day to implement public education and outreach programs across the city. During her time with Seattle OEM, Melanie has implemented multiple programs including the Child Care Provider Readiness Project; the Public Education Volunteer Program, a partnership and training program for residents of Seattle Housing Authority and Seattle Senior Housing Program; and a “Continuity of Operations” workshop for cultural institutions.
