Ellen Schur, M.D., M.S., is an associate professor of medicine at the University of Washington in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Harborview Medical Center. She completed her medical degree at Stanford University in 1999 and her medical residency at UW in 2002. She received an M.S. in Epidemiology in 2008 from UW. In 2012, she received the Clinician-Scientist of the Year award from the Northwest Region, Society of General Internal Medicine.

In this conversation with Steve Scher, Dr. Schur discusses the significance and implications of weight gain and where we carry those extra pounds. She also explains how small-scale weight loss can lead to big health gains.​
