Indemnification
The University is authorized to indemnify its regents, officers, employees, agents, and students from liability on any action or claim instituted against them arising from their performance of duties for or employment with the University, or of responsibilities imposed by approved University programs. RCW 28B.20.250. Indemnification will be provided in accordance with University procedures. University Handbook, Vol. I, Chapter 5. The University generally grants indemnification under circumstances where the individual has acted in good faith and the action arose while the individual was acting within the scope of their University duties or was acting at the direction or specific request of the University.
Requests for defense and indemnification should be directed to University's Office of Risk Management.
