
The UWFA offers scholarships to students of any gender who are juniors or seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or above. Preference is given to Washington state residents who have demonstrated financial need, leadership and service. Since the scholarship fund was initiated in 1958, the UWFA has awarded over 130 full and partial scholarships to deserving UW undergraduates. A special opportunity to give to the UWFA Scholarship for those 70 ½ and older. If you qualify you can make a donation directly from your IRA to qualified charities such as our UWFA Scholarship Fund without having to pay income taxes on the money. This popular gift option is often referred to qualified charitable distribution, or QCD.
