AND RACE DISPARITIES
IMPACT THE HEALTH OF MARGINALIZED
POPULATIONS, THE DISTRIBUTION OF
VACCINES, THE EFFECTS OF REMOTE
SCHOOLING AND LEARNING LOSS, AND
WHETHER IT MAKES SENSE TO HAVE
STUDENTS RETURN TO IN PERSON
CLASSROOMS. WE WILL ALSO LOOK AT
THE CHALLENGES OF FINDING
AFFORDABLE QUALITY CHILD CARE
AS WELL AS HUNGER AND HOUSING
INSECURITY ISSUES THAT ARE
A DIRECT RESULT OF COVID-19.
FINALLY, THIS CLASS WILL EXAMINE
THE EFFORTS PRIVATE PHILANTHROPY
AND THE RESPONSE OF THE STATE AND
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO THIS CRISIS.
DURING CLASS, WE WILL
HAVE IN-DEPTH CONVERSATIONS AND
HEAR PRESENTATIONS FROM LEADING
EXPERTS FROM LOW INCOME FAMILIES
FROM ACROSS WASHINGTON STATE.

APPROACH AND PURSUE ANSWERS TO
THEIR OWN QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE
SCHOOLS OF REGGIO EMILIA.
DEVELOPED AS A SEMINAR,
PARTICIPATION IN DISCUSSIONS ABOUT
READINGS, OR ABOUT INDIVIDUALS'
QUESTIONS AND REFLECTIONS IS A
CRITICAL COMPONENT OF THIS COURSE.
WITH VARIABLE CREDIT OPTIONS,
STUDENTS WILL WORK WITH
INSTRUCTORS TO CREATE AN
INDIVIDUALIZED PLAN OF INQUIRY
TO MATCH THE NUMBER OF CREDITS
WITH THEIR INQUIRY PROCESS.
STUDENTS GOING TO ITALY WILL
BE AWARDED 6 CREDITS WITH
COMPLETION OF DOCUMENTATION &
REFLECTIONS OF THEIR TRIP.
