HISTORICAL, POLITICAL, AND SOCIAL
CONTEXT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE
REGGIO EMILIA APPROACH TO EARLY
CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. STUDENTS WILL
DELVE INTO THE PHILOSOPHICAL AND
PEDAGOGICAL PRINCIPLES OF THE
APPROACH AND PURSUE ANSWERS TO
THEIR OWN QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE
SCHOOLS OF REGGIO EMILIA. THEY
WILL DISCUSS THIS APPROACH IN
COMPARISON TO WHAT THEY'VE
EXPERIENCED AND ARE FAMILIAR WITH
IN THE US AND OTHER COUNTRIES, AND
HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO INVESTIGATE
OTHER INTERNATIONAL APPROACHES TO
EARLY EDUCATION. DEVELOPED AS A
