Housing Information

Fraternity and sorority residential housing has been a long-standing tradition at UW and today our chapter facilities house nearly 3,500 students. Each chapter house is made up of a small group of closely connected people from a wide variety of backgrounds. On any given day you’ll find people coming and going, listening to music or just chatting. Upperclassmen are helping new members prepare for exams; someone’s in the kitchen making a cake for another member’s 20th birthday, while others are lounging in front of the TV with a raucous game of pool being decided in the next room. Living alongside your fraternity brothers or sorority sisters offers you an immediate, close-knit group of friends to ease your transition into the university environment. From collaborating on class projects to dancing the night away, living in a fraternity or sorority house is truly a home away from home.

Fraternity and sorority housing is a viable option, as approximately 15 percent of incoming freshmen are housed in the Greek community annually. *
Note: All sororities and some fraternities provide an alcohol-free housing environment.
