Tanmay Bhanushali
Tanmay Bhanushali co-founded UWEMS in 2023 alongside Tristan Jafari and Patrick Bi, spending two years building Washington state’s first collegiate EMS agency from the ground up before its official launch in 2025.
He served as the organization’s Co-Chief before becoming the first solo Chief of UWEMS. Under his leadership, UWEMS grew to a team of over 25 volunteer EMTs and established partnerships with the Seattle Fire Department, UW administration, and other stakeholders. He also served as a Field Training Officer and as an instructor for CPR/AED and Naloxone Administration classes on campus. Tanmay graduated from the University of Washington in 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics.
