EDU Talks: Raising Washington, organized by the University of Washington College of Education.

In Washington State, 1 out of every 5 kids grows up in poverty, most of which are not ready for Kindergarten. Eight researchers from the University of Washington visited Spokane to present their insights to educators on how to give children a fair start and reaching their potential.

Several of our Medex students volunteered at 2nd Harvest in honor of National Physician Assistant Week, they helped pack 9.9lbs of food. Thank you to our students who volunteered.

Put your paddle in- University District Celebration

Dave, ’57 and Mari, ’58 (UW Regent) Clack were honored last night with the first Impact Award at the annual University District celebration for all of their contributions to the U-district and the students here in Spokane, specifically UWSOM students. A big thank you to Dave and Mari for all they have done and continue to do. The University of Washington and Spokane is lucky to have philanthropists like them.

Business after Hours

In conjunction with Greater Spokane Incorporated (GSI) we hosted Business after Hours at our medical school on Gonzaga’s campus. By sponsoring this event and hosting it at Schoenberg on GU’s campus we were able to showcase our medical school, future doctors and professors to the Spokane community business leaders.

House Higher Education Committee Tour

The House Higher Education committee was in Spokane to tour our programs in the area which consists of our Medical school, PA program and RIDE program.

Next Generation Medicine: Vaccines to End Cancer with Nora Disis, M.D., Fel. ’93

Dr. Nora Disis spoke about her research regarding vaccines to end cancer at the Hemmingson Center in front of 275 people. This lecture was put on in conjunction with UWAA and UW School of Medicine and is the first of many lectures to come in the Spokane area.

Husky Football Kickoff Lunch with Bob Rondeau
