2025 Annual Report

Key Accomplishments

  • Launched multiple planning cohorts across all three campuses with more than 50 total participants.
  • Conducted kickoff meetings for 23 departments to introduce continuity concepts and the planning framework to leaders.
  • Increased the number of Husky Ready plans in active development to over 50.
  • Leveraged the BARC Teams channel to provide real world case studies in continuity and access to planning resources.
  • Received the President’s approval of APS 13.2 Organizational Resilience – a major revision to the University of Washington’s business continuity policy.

Starting Strong

Departments and programs in Seattle, Bothell and Tacoma begin their planning process

A record number of UW schools, departments and programs started the continuity planning process in 2025 to reduce the impact of disruptions, including:

  • School of Dentistry

UW Bothell cohort develops continuity plans

The UW Bothell Division of Academic Affairs began working together as a planning cohort in fall 2025 and is making great progress on completing Husky Ready plans.

Participating departments include:

  • Central Operations
  • Libraries
  • School of Educational Studies
  • School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences
  • School of Nursing and Health Studies
  • School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics
  • Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

Capturing lessons learned

BARC worked closely with UWEM to develop a standardized after-action report form (AAR). The new form will be available to all UW units to capture lessons from incidents or disruptions to expected activities or operations. Look for more information soon on the UWEM website.

2025 BARC Outcomes
