Recognizing achievement and service

President's Medalists Reception in the Allen Room

UW alumni and friends have made extraordinary contributions—advancing society, pushing the boundaries of art, and even exploring outer space. Each year, the UWAA celebrates this legacy by granting five awards: the Alumnus Summa Laude Dignatus Award, the Distinguished Alumni Veteran Award, the Distinguished Service Award, the Distinguished Teaching Legacy Award and the Golden Graduate Distinguished Alumnus Award.

The Alumnus Summa Laude Dignatus Award (ASLD) is the highest honor bestowed upon a UW graduate. Presented annually by the UW and the UWAA, this prestigious recognition has been awarded to world-renowned writers, scientists, and leaders in industry, commerce and philanthropy. Nominations are open to the public. Learn more

The Distinguished Alumni Veteran Award (DAVA) honors a living UW alum who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces or Uniformed Services and has made a significant impact—whether locally, nationally, internationally or within the veteran community. Learn more.

The Distinguished Service Award (DSA) recognizes UWAA members and volunteers whose outstanding contributions have significantly strengthened the UWAA, the University of Washington and the alumni community. Learn more.
