Out & About Around the Husky Globe: Spring 2025
Huskies around the world have been busy for the last few months. From mescal tasting in Beijing to Seahawks pride in Jakarta and happy hour in Vancouver, alumni are connecting, celebrating and showing their Husky spirit wherever they go. See the highlights below!

Indonesia Huskies take aim
In late 2024, alumni in Indonesia hit the shooting range for a practice in marksmanship and making connections. The event combined skill-building with camaraderie in true Husky fashion.
Cheering the Seahawks from Jakarta
On Dec. 16, Indonesia Huskies gathered to watch the Seahawks take on the Packers. Win or lose, the Dawg spirit was strong as alumni came together to share football and fun.
Building Husky connections across India
In December, receptions in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru brought alumni together to celebrate community and hear campus updates. In Bengaluru, Professor Rajesh Rao shared insights on AI, neuroscience and innovation.
Jiangsu Huskies toast the new year
Huskies in Jiangsu kicked off 2025 in style with a Spring Festival banquet at a local sake bar. The Feb. 15 gathering marked the start of a year full of connection and community for alumni in the region.
Beijing alumni raise a glass to community
Beijing Huskies gathered in March for a spirited mescal tasting, blending global flavors with their Dawg pride. Alumni enjoyed great conversations and a taste of something new.
Shenzhen alum drops by for a coffee chat
In March, Daoming Li, ’14, stopped by campus for coffee and conversation with the UW’s Assistant Vice President for International Advancement, Ray Li and Assistant Director of International Advancement, Doug Wallack during a visit from Shenzhen. A great reminder that Husky connections are always brewing.
Kyu Lee brings K-Pop insights to Seattle
Also in March, Korea Husky Kyu Lee, ’00, shared his expertise at a UWAA K-Pop dance class on Capitol Hill. Huskies got dancing—and learned about the global movement behind the beats.
Fashion meets business
March’s third notable alumni visit to campus was from another Korea Husky, Jordan Hanauer, ’00, who came as a guest speaker for the Foster School’s Global Business Forum. MBA students explored the world of global fashion with insights from Jordan.
Delhi Huskies connect
Delhi alumni gathered on March 19 for an evening of networking hosted by Tarun Bhalla, ’05, at the offices of his West Delhi EdTech company Avishkaar. The reception brought Huskies together to celebrate global ties.
Beijing Husky visits Seattle for law school anniversary
In early April, Beijing Husky Jack Ding, ’11, made the trip to Seattle to celebrate the law school’s 125th anniversary, meet with International Advancement staff and revisit classic haunts on the Ave.
Huskies gather in Vancouver for spring cheers
Canada Huskies came together on April 11 for a happy hour at CRAFT Beer Market in Vancouver, BC. Alumni enjoyed good food, drinks and conversation while strengthening their local Husky network.
