Northwest Sinfonietta, founded in 1991, is the premier professional chamber orchestra of the Puget Sound region. With 35 musicians, the ensemble blends the intimacy of chamber music with the grandeur of a full symphony orchestra.
Serving communities throughout the South Sound, the Sinfonietta brings inspiring performances to Tacoma, Puyallup and beyond. Its Orchestra at Work program supports music education in local schools, while low-sensory and storytelling initiatives engage young children with hands-on musical experiences. Northwest Sinfonietta also fosters youth talent through its annual Youth Concerto Competition. Through the Heartstrings program, it partners with community organizations to provide free access to concerts for underserved audiences.
